Welcome back! Just five days ago we celebrated the birth of Christ and I bet many of you are already back into the swing of your normal day and have already forgotten that we are still in celebration!
Actually, every day should be a day to celebrate, however, we often get hung up in our daily routine that we forget to be thankful for all that has been provided to us. I know how guilty I am of this!
Just this morning I was having a “moment” because I focused on all the things that were going wrong rather than all the things in my life that are great.

It is so easy to get caught up in our life’s troubles on a typical day.
I challenge you, and myself, to wake up tomorrow with the feeling that, it “is” Christmas Day and carry with you that magical feeling of appreciation in all you do.

Wake up tomorrow and give thanks to our Lord for this is the day that the Lord has made!!
In our Twelve Days of Christmas song today we will give thanks today for Six Geese A Laying. “This is not referencing six geese laying eggs”!
This is referring to the six days of Creation!

On the Fourth Day of Christmas My True Love Gave to Me Four “Colly” Birds
On the Fourth Day of Christmas My True Love Gave to Me Four Colly birds… No, this is not a typo. Originally the song was written to say “Colly Birds”.

Google… “free stock photographs”
Colly meaning black birds. Colly means “black as coal”, in old English, as in “colliery”, which is a coal mine and its connected buildings dated back to 1635 according to Webster’s Dictionary. Not the most attractive representation.
Since the song was written, the word Colly had been changed to Calling Birds as we know it today.

The four calling birds were meant to represent The Four Gospels: 1) Matthew, 2) Mark, 3) Luke, and 4) John, which proclaim the Good News of God’s reconciliation of the world to Himself in Jesus Christ.
They are typically portrayed as an Angel, Lion, Ox, and an Eagle… not quite sure how they became “Calling Birds”. However I have a feeling it had to do with the memory version, of the song, for the kids.

These gospels are telling us the story of Jesus from His birth through the Virgin Mary to His death.

Jesus was “perfect” and never needed to be punished, however, He took the punishment for the entire world through His crucifixion.
So, after Christmas is over and you have headed back to work or are preparing for the New Year keep this quote in mind…

It isn’t just on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day that we should be thanking and praising Jesus for all He has done for us through his birth and existence. It should be every day, every minute, and every breath we take as we receive these things from Him who gives us all we need.

Religious Quotes are buried deep inside our soul. They are actually more than Religious Quotes, more like inspirational bible verses carved from a piece of the persons entity and existence. These Religious Quotes tend to need some sort of translation due to the intense nature behind the story.
Kind of like bible verses …if you will!
